Byron Bay Writers Festival 2011

It was the most wonderful Byron Bay Writers Festival, highlights
including Paul Kelly doing a couple of his songs (that voice! those
lyrics!) as part of his chat with David Leser; John Pilger in
conversation with Phillip Adams, two great minds; my own panel with
the divine Belinda Jeffery, the sweetest Adam Liaw and the most
gracious Victoria Alexander; chatting to Betty Churcher at the Opening
Night party; the sunshine; bumping into so many people I knew over the
weekend; Maria Hyland’s workshop then her later panel (love that
woman!)…I am now rapidly running out of excuses for starting my new

Author of the gastro-memoir 'Amore&Amaretti: A Tale of Love an Food in Tuscany', I am a Byron Shire-based food and travel writer, food columnist, cooking teacher, recipe editor and chef. Born in Canberra, ACT, I have a BA in languages although am only really passionate about the Italian one, in which I am fluent, having spent four years in Tuscany in my late twenties, and returning reasonably frequently ever since.
